Flower Workshops

If you love flowers, you’ll love our floral workshops at Orchard Lane. We are proud to have the Columbus area’s most creative floral designers, and we love to share our passion for floral design with our customers and community here in Clintonville and throughout greater CBUS.

Our flower workshops take place monthly and semi-monthly at holiday time, when so many people are entertaining or decorating. Our floral workshops utilize the blooms of the season and include all the materials you’ll need in the cost of the workshop, including the vase or vessel to contain your arrangement.

From a glorious spring peony bouquet to a festive and elegant Christmas-time centerpiece, you’ll make arrangements, wreaths, and other floral works of art you can display at home or give as a gift. You’ll also learn valuable skills you can use to make your own stunning, professional-level floral arrangements, including:

  • Basic floral design techniques: This includes how to cut and condition flowers, how to use floral mechanics and tools, such as floral shears, floral foam, wire, and tape, and how to create different types of floral arrangements, such as bouquets, centerpieces, and wreaths.
  • Design principles: You will learn about the basic principles of design, such as balance, proportion, and contrast, and how to apply them to your floral work.
  • Color theory: You will learn how to use color to create visually appealing and harmonious floral designs.
  • Floral care and preservation: You will learn how to keep your floral arrangements fresh and looking their best for as long as possible and extend their vase life.
  • Flower-specific knowledge: You’ll learn the fascinating information about the flowers you’re using.

Most importantly, our flower workshops will give you the chance to express yourself creatively and have fun with people who share your interest in floral design.
